Role: Monument Stonecutter / Stonemason
Location: Glasnevin and other cemeteries as required
Hours: 39 per week
Reporting to: Glasnevin Cemetery Monuments Production Manager

Glasnevin Cemetery Monument Works Ltd. seeks a full-time Monument Stonecutter/ Stonemason.
The post holder will be responsible for creating and restoring monuments, including carving, shaping, polishing, and lettering while maintaining equipment and adhering strictly to health and safety standards. The post holder will ensure safe, high-quality work both in the yard and on-site while upholding exceptional customer service. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for mentoring an apprentice including training oversight, skills development and keeping accurate progress records.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
Essential:
QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft - Stonecutting & Stonemasonry.
Experience safely handling and moving heavy items.
Ability to interpret work orders and specifications accurately
Skilled in stonecutting techniques (carving, shaping, polishing, lettering).
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Strong attention to detail
Strong organisational and administrative skills with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Experience using machinery/equipment/ tools (forklift, crane, other lifting equipment, hand tools)
Understanding of health and safety risks and protocols.
Strong IT Skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Full, clean driver’s license
Desirable:
Full clean C1 driver’s license
Knowledge /experience using SAP operating system knowledge of memorial styles, materials, and traditional techniques
Experience using sign writing programme and plotter
Experience using AutoCAD software
