Monument Stonecutter / Stonemason

Overview

Glasnevin Cemetery Monument Works Ltd. seeks a full-time Monument Stonecutter / Stonemason. The role involves creating and restoring monuments, including carving, shaping, polishing, and lettering, while adhering strictly to health and safety standards.

The post holder will ensure safe, high-quality work both in the yard and on-site, provide excellent customer service, and mentor an apprentice, including training oversight and maintaining accurate progress records.

Essential Requirements

• QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Stonecutting & Stonemasonry
• Experience handling and moving heavy items safely
• Ability to interpret work orders and specifications
• Skilled in carving, shaping, polishing, and lettering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Good organisational and administrative skills
• Experience using machinery and tools
• Understanding of health and safety protocols
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Full, clean driver’s licence

Desirable

• Full, clean C1 driver’s licence
• Knowledge of SAP systems and memorial styles
• Experience with sign-writing software and plotters
• Experience using AutoCAD
