About the Role
Ormonde Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Advanced Scaffolder to join our growing construction team. Based from our Head Office in Kilkenny, the successful candidate will travel to construction projects throughout the South East, carrying out the erection, alteration, inspection and dismantling of complex scaffolding systems while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Erect, alter, inspect and dismantle scaffolding systems in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
- Install a variety of scaffolding systems including tube and fitting, system scaffolds and bespoke scaffold structures.
- Read and interpret scaffold drawings, method statements and risk assessments.
- Carry out pre-use and ongoing scaffold inspections, identifying and reporting defects or hazards.
- Ensure all scaffolding complies with Irish Health & Safety legislation, HSA Codes of Practice and company procedures.
- Work safely at height using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Supervise and mentor apprentice, basic and intermediate scaffolders where required.
- Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and Health & Safety personnel to ensure scaffolding requirements are met.
- Complete scaffold handover documentation, inspection records and other required paperwork.
- Load, transport and maintain scaffolding equipment and ensure materials are stored safely.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards on all sites.
- Promote a positive safety culture and stop work where unsafe conditions exist.
Essential Requirements
- Advanced Scaffolder qualification (CSCS Advanced Scaffolder Card or equivalent recognised certification).
- Valid Safe Pass.
- Manual Handling Certificate.
- Full clean Category B driving licence.
- Minimum 5 years' scaffolding experience, including advanced scaffolding work.
- Ability to read scaffold drawings and engineering designs.
- Strong understanding of Irish Health & Safety legislation and working at height regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel to sites throughout the South East.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality work.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teleporter certification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience working on residential, commercial and civil engineering projects.
- Experience supervising scaffolding teams.

Pay: €15.69-€23.03 per hour
